Research has indicated that online therapy is just as effective as in person therapy provided you have a good relationship with your therapist. Even though we won’t be in the same room, I’ve adapted nearly every intervention I use to an online platform.

Most people can effectively use online therapy. You will need a safe, secure, private location and a strong internet connection. For example an office or room in your home. Some clients can use their parked car, however you must ensure the connection is strong enough for two way video streaming. I suggest testing the connection by video calling a friend.

Eating disorder treatment requires a team approach. I have connected with several providers in Rhode Island to create a network of other clinicians to support my clients and ensure they receive comprehensive care.

If you need an intensive outpatient, partial, or inpatient/residential program I will support you in finding the care you need. There are even programs that allow clients to receive intensive outpatient and partial care virtually. Every client has unique needs, and I will support you in determining the best plan of care.

In addition to yourself, you will need a laptop, phone, or tablet. You may also want to bring a journal and a pen. However, this is a personal preference.
